Anyone else's baby sleep more when it's hot and how do you cool them down?

2 week old ds has been asleep for most of the day and I'm really struggling to keep him cool, he's had a tepid bath and he's not wearing anything apart from a nappy, he's drinking a lot and loads of wet and dirty nappys but I'm freaking out that he's going to over heat, he is sleeping downstairs with me in his Moses basket where it's cooler and I'll have a fan on in the room but I'm really stressing that he's too hot, help me!!!!!

Hi, I just googled this as I was getting worried about my 7 week old who has been asleep nearly all day!

All the things that you are doing are exactly what all the websites that I have looked at advise. They say as long as there are lots of wet nappies then they're not dehydrated so should be fine. Worrying though isn't it, my little guy is flaked out in his Moses basket in just a nappy.

IME nothing to do with the heat, just that lovely stage they go through when they sleep loads and lull you into a false sense of security

He sounds perfect!

Thank you littlemiss, it is worrying and I can't wait for the weather to break or even when it's four tomorrow morning when it does seem to go a little cooler, glad to know its not just mine, think I'm in for a long night!

I think you are doing everything right especially if he's pooing and seeing loads. If he doesn't have a temp and when he is awake he's quite alert (as opposed to lethargic) then he's fine. I'd take advantage of this and sleep!! (says the woman who's not had a whole nights sleep in 22 months.). Grin
