Tots bots stretchies and nappy rash: any ideas???

We have a big stash of stretchies but realised a few months ago that suddenly they've started causing DD to get nappy rash.
We're using a few smartipants pocket nappies and disposables while they're in the wash, but keep trying the stretchies and DD looks red after a couple of hours :(

I tried 'stripping' them: just a few in machine on 60 degree wash without detergent (even though they were clean already) but still she looked sore.

What I'm wondering is if there's anything else I can try to make them 'usable' for DD, and are they doing to be any use for DC2 when he or she comes along (ttc at the moment)?

Or do I grow them all out? Such a waste as I have loads....

Apparently white vinegar in the softener compartment on a strip wash really helps :)
