So close to finishing my first two modules...

I am studying for B62 (BSc with honours in Computing and IT) with the OU

I started my first module in Feb TU100 (60 pts) and then my second in may T122 (30pts)
the overlap has been a tad stressful with lots of periods of a TMA due every 2 weeks, but I am so close to finishing these two modules now I can almost smell it!

on TU100 I have enough marks that I could skip my last assignment if I want and just do the EMA... will have a look at it before I decide

T122 is all fluff, and so far I haven't opened the books Blush not sure thats a good thing, but tbh this degree is in the subject my career is in... I have worked in the industry for about 12 years so I would hope the basic modules don't teach me too much Blush Smile

These two finish end of Sept officially, but once I start the EMAs I will be there in my head - next module TM128 (30pts) starts October... thinking about overlapping with my first level 2 module at the same time...

has anyone here overlapped a level 1 and level 2 module? Is it ok? Do level 2 modules require more time input or is that based around the points per module ?

level 2 modules need approximately twice the amount of time as a level 1. whereas you are pretty much 'handheld' through level 1 you are not given as much support and guidance at level 2 and there is a lot more reading etc.

it can be done, and others have managed successfully, but i found it horribly stressful with all the other responsibilities i had and found i was doing what i had to get by rather than enjoying the courses.

it depends on your reasons for studying but since mine is not for professional development i can afford to take it more slowly.

hmmm my first module (the 60 pointer) is a huge amount of reading, and everyone on the forum has said how much reading it is for a level 1 module, so I would guess I can assume that its a similar amount to expect on level 2...

decisions decisions....

Just trying to find the speediest path really! If I don't overlap at points, there are some times where I can't do another module for 4/6 months etc frustrating!
