please help! Feeding problems with two week old

My baby is two weeks old today. She had jaundice/problems feeding when first born and got admitted back to hospital. She got better, gained weight and has been home a week. She was fantastic with her feeds and sleep. Now we are getting periods of inconsolable crying after feeds. Last night it was about three hours then stopped at quickly as it started.

It's just happened again. She had a long feed where I stopped her when she was gulping and winded every five mins. She fed for about 45 mins including winding time and then cried for about an hour. She's now feeding again but I'm dreading the aftermath :(

The midwife just said it's 'unlikely' to be colic and that we should move her legs in a cycling motion then push them up which hasn't helped. please help!! I'm really struggling!

I should add she has a blocked tear duct and I do wonder if her nose is blocked too. She sometimes makes a squeaking noise when feeding.

It could be reflux, try keeping her upright for a good half an hour after feeds and propping her cot up too. May be worth looking into.

Hope you sort it soon x

Thanks will try both. She's wide awake and calm at the mo. It's awful sitting here waiting for the next scream.

Try a bit of infacol before a feed, it may help. Do you have a sling, if so put her in that after a feed, it will keep her upright, find some white noise to calm her it sound funny but DD2 is exactly the same (she has silent reflux) and i calm her by standing next to a shower on cold, it sounds like the rain and she loves it,

DD also had a blocked tear duct, i used to "milk it" while she fed lol

It will get better OP. good luck

Thank you so much. Thank god a friend had given me a whole bottle of infacol before she was born. Just had a dose and is sleeping peacefully! Fingers crossed it continues!

I have a white noise app which I think helped. She likes the insect setting(!)

Yeah I do that to her eye! Gross! Xx
