I can proof it tomorrow, but ideally it needs to be written now

Can anyone shout at me & nag?

Babies are cute. They drool and smell but that are still sweet. Sometimes they vomit up milk. Babies need to wear baby sized clothes. And play with baby toys - like rattles and cuddly toys. If all else fails stick cbeebies on. Do not feed a new born a steak. Cuddle babies lots but hold them the right way up or they might spew on your toes. Put to sleep regularly.

How is that? Grin

Don't use permanent markers. It's really tough to get off their smooth skin. Plus the health visitors don't really approve of graffitied children...

KatyMac · 14/07/2012 07:30

Damn it's 2000 & writing on a baby would tempt me - but I have none just now (DD is 14 Wink)

Giraffes that's only 71 & I was marked down for grammar last time and given a warning!

Ok I know how to use up loads of words....

Babies like nursery rhymes and songs. Even if you are rubbish at singing ha is ok. Here are some songs they like Cry Baby Bunting
Daddy's gone a-hunting
Gone to fetch a rabbit skin
To wrap the Baby Bunting in
Cry Baby Bunting

Alternative Lyrics

Bye, baby bumpkin
Where?s Tony Lumpkin
My lady?s on her death-bed,
For eating half a pumpkin
Baa baa black sheep, have you any wool?
Yes sir, yes sir, three bags full!
One for the master, one for the dame,
And one for the little boy who lives down the lane.
Little Boy Blue come blow your horn,
The sheep's in the meadow the cow's in the corn.
But where's the boy who looks after the sheep?
He's under a haystack fast asleep.
Will you wake him? No, not I - for if I do, he's sure to cry

So "baybees iz cute innit" won't do?

KatyMac · 14/07/2012 07:41

Maybe not.....so far I have
"We had 3 babies starting with us at a similar time, which triggered a review of how I provide for babies. The areas in which I felt we were competent were:
? Bottle preparation ? following World Health Organisation guidelines
? Observation and planning ? a system using direct observation to inform planning both on an individual and whole setting basis.
? Food provision ? a planned menu of home cooked food looking at a balance of nutritional requirements and a variety of tastes and textures.
? Resources ? a wide range of "

Which might work

Brew Biscuit

Tea breaks are important to re-energize your brain!

MoaningMingeWhingesAgain · 14/07/2012 10:38

Keep going. I'll proof read it for you if you want, I like babies and am fairly literate!
Can you waffle a bit about reflecting on your practice, what you would like to improve etc?

9hucking in a 'model of reflection' usually goes down well

Ways you know you are doing well and how, eg feedback from parents, other professionals, babies seem happier and confident etc?

KatyMac · 14/07/2012 10:48

Thank you - I will take you both up on the tea & proof reading offers
