Do you cut kids toenails straight across or rounded?

I always thought it was supposed to be straight across but then saw a leaflet in Clarks that said rounded Confused

Straight across generally, but I might clip off the corners a tiny bit if they're really pokey-outey or sharp.

I have to round off the corners of their big toenails a bit as they are really sticky out otherwise and catch on everything / scratch their legs. I always thought you weren't supposed to though.

I follow the shape of the pink part of the nail so sometime across and sometime rounded

Straight. Ds gets ingrowing toenails if you don't.

However he'll let me! DS 2.3 hates having his toes touched, and hated anyone touching their own toes even! I have to sneak in his room at night and cut the odd one before he wakes and kicks me!! Blush

I follow the shape of the nail - straight across wouldn't work on ds.
