Anyone use a playpen?

I'm thinking of buying a playpen for my 10 month old ds.

Does anyone else use one? Have you found it useful? Was it easy to persuade your baby to go in it?

yep, have one and love it!

it was a godsend for when I needed to leave ds to play safely while i made dinner etc etc

put plenty of toys in there, including a steering wheel attached to the bars...

there was no "persuading" involved.. he got plonked in there and left! lol
not as bad as it sounds honest! he liked it in there

I bought one, and my dts quite liked being in it to start with, surrounded by toys. Once they were crawling they weren't so impressed tho. Also, if you get something like a babydan they take up a lot of space. I ended up using mine to break up the room so they can play in one half safely.

Yes I have a wooden one
DS goes in it in the morning while I have a shower and then in the evening when I run his bath

If you do get one, get him used to it before he starts moving around! I had one, but started using it too late - dd hated it. My friend has one, and her dds loved it - but she used them as play areas from the minute they could sit up.

Yes I had one, one of those big ones you can also use as a room divider, but it was used as a playpen and took up a large part of our lounge for a while. It was a godsend, I used to put DS in it from about 5 months with lots of toys and he loved it. I was able to put him in while I went for a shower etc and he never complained about being in there.

We have the travel cot set up in the kitchen and use that. She (8 months) doesn't seem to mind.
