I was wondering what do you let your children watch on TV?

Are you very strict or liberal with what you let them watch?

DD only watches Cbeebies at the moment but I imagine when shes older I'll be fairly liberal as long as I don't think it is likely to cause nightmares or anxiety.

My son is 3. He watches CBeeBies and Cartoonito and DVDs and cooking shows. He loves cooking shows!

No tv - we don't have a licence.

We record programmes on Freeview, so Pat, Thomas et al. Mainly Cbeebies but an odd programme on C4 / BBC2. If DS sees an advert for something he likes at the end of the programme we will record an episode of another programme to see if it grabs him but we wouldn't just put the teleevision on for him to watch whatever happens to be on. We alos have some DVDs so he sometimes watches odd episodes on these but again, never the whole 3 or 5 programmes, just 1 or 2 episodes. He's 2 nearly 3. As he gets older, we'll still set times for viewing and hopefully try to direct him to family programmes, which we can all watch together, history, nature etc rather than endless CBBC.
