I am a new(ish) first time mum - DD is 11 months old. Despite being constantly on the go, I still play netball and help organise training, welcome new members etc. Our whole team is populated by volunteers. Even though it can be pretty difficult juggling it all, I wouldn't want to give it up, as it's part of my identity(please understand I'm not wishing to be smug here - I just think that parents seem to do a lot of unacknowledged giving in one way or another!)
I never really thought of it as volunteering, as it's just doing something I love. I would be really interested to hear about other things that people are involved in - and whether you feel the same way about it. There is a recently launched campaign highlighting this that have made a vid featuring some really cute kids if you want a giggle too - click here... Watch out for the cutie moonwalking at the end
