Is this sensible? Carpal tunnel surgery question.

I'm about to have carpal tunnel release surgery on my right (main) hand - I'm also desperate to have a holiday.
I have two dcs - DD 2 years and DS 4 years. There is a cottage available in Cornwell where we have had a really happy trip in the past. The only problem is that it is two weeks post operation. I need to know whether I'm being realistic. DH is great with the children but I know that traveling with two will require me to join in and help!

If you've had the procedure can you let me know what you were capable of doing two weeks after your surgery?
Many thanks in advance.

my aunt had the surgery recently and was told not to use her hand too much for two weeks but by about a week after it felt a lot better and was using it a bit. She had to be a bit careful though - I guess you will be doing all the packing etc....?

My husband had his in November and it's still not right now, he has lost grip somewhat in that hand. It was more painful than he was led to believe too, and that's not him just being a bloke :o

If my kids were that young and, based on our experience, I wouldn't go.
