Holiday in the heat!

So after a bloody awful few weeks (surprise pregnancy then a miscarriage) me and DH are thinking of escapinging the miserable weather for a bit of sunshine and recuperation.

However our DD is 18 months and I'm wondering if 28 -35 degrees (portugal) might be a bit hot for her to cope with? Obviously well take all the sensible precautions - staying out of mid-day heat and covering up but I'm wondering what we could do during the day. We're staying at a family home so no pool except the paddling kind.

Tips and advice needed please.

I just came back from a 'holiday' at 5 months pg and with my 2yo DS. It was 38 - 40 degrees every day and we both really suffered, to the point that 2 days after arriving I was seriously considering going back home. I used to live there too so it's not as though I'm a delicate sort who doesn't like heat.

So my advice would be to find somewhere a bit cooler but still nice and sunny. Maybe France?
