Can't answer the first two, but for the last, do you mean rote style learning? If so, I think it has been around so long, that I don't think it can be attributed to any one scholar. For example, there was the research into how Morroccan children learn Large chunks of the Qur'an through Rote learning, Also very popular in Eastern / Asian (Japan, China etc) teaching.

I have a few bits on it for my MA (I'm doing it on revision, so may not be relevant to you!) but what are you after and why?

I need it for an assignment identifying what type of teaching is portrayed in Harry Potter 1 and Matilda. It seemed to be all active and depicted a behaviours style but apparently not!
The semiotics about representation means (think) things like Mr & MRS Wormwood, name not nice their not nice. Miss honey names sweet and portrayed in soft light so therefore she's nice.
