I'm 34 weeks pregnant with DC2 and also have DS1 who is just turned 19months.
DS1 was and still is appalling sleeper and wakes during the night regularly.
Terrified that DC2 will be the same and I may end up havibg a nervous breakdown from lack of sleep x2! :(

Can anyone recommend good baby swaddle? Been looking at "swaddle me", "woombie", "love to swaddle" to name a few and a little overwhelmed by the variety and choice.Confused
Worried I'll make an expensive mistake if I buy the wrong one!

I have Summer Infant Swaddle me and its brilliant. I tried blankets when DS was born and he hated it so I gave up - tried the Swaddle Me at 9 weeks and he's slept through every night but 1 since then, he's 14 weeks now. I've heard that the larger size isn't great so I'll be trying the kiddopotamus one next. Honestly - if I'd have paid £100 for the Swaddle I would still recommend as it has saved my sanity!

Ooohhh thank you! Determined not to make the same mistakes we did with DS1- which we're still paying the price for! Was a bit confused by all the choice- especially the ones that allow the arms in a "wing" position and not strapped to their sides. You'd think second time round I'd know what I was doing!!

I bought one of the wing ones too and its sitting in a drawer - just pointless. The summer infant one is so easy - just pop him and and velcro over. If you need to you can just undo the bottom bit for nappy changes too so you don't have to take the arms out - saves all the faff of reswaddling. Having said that DS sleeps so well in it he very rarely wakes for a nappy change any more. I really wish I had known about it from birth I could have saved myself 2 months of sleepless nights!

Another vote for the summer swaddle - MiniMonkey slept much better in them and now at 14 months she sleeps really well.

I'm using Aden & Anais large Muslims and learnt to swaddle from instructions in pack and my 7w old daughter sleeps 12-7.30 and has pretty much slept for at least 5-6 hours from the first week!!! She is PFB so much better than I expected.

Summer Swaddle Me all the way. Its idiot proof to use and, if you do it up tight enough, pretty damn hard for the baby to wriggle its way out of. DD is 5mo and we still use it sometimes for daytime naps. They're not expensive either so I'd recommend to any mum to have one in the cupboard for when baby is born, just in case it works. It worked for us in an instant!

Idiot proof!! Wink sounds like my sort of thing!
I was a bit concerned about using sheets/blankets to swaddle after reading about hip dysplasia if you swaddle too tight. And the wing ones just looked so strange to me- I couldn't work out if they were utterly brilliant or gimmicky!! I just want a baby that sleeps longer than 1 hr chunks!! Hmm
