My children are functioning on a pocket money chart - it's working

I am having a chocolate party on Thursday and I have told dds that they can stay up for it. I have told them they can have £2 each to spend on the night. I have a piece of paper on the fridge with their names and under each I have written £2.00. Everytime they are naughty I will deduct 10p.
DD1 (6) has been a total angel tonight and dd2 (4) is down to £1.80.
I wonder how much they'll have left by Thursday night! Grin

I do this, when I remember, and my ds1 (6) really responds to it. I have started it up again as he is a nightmare going to bed at the mo. He gets £2.50 a week pocket money and if he goes to bed well, he'll get 20p per night. He lost that tonight and an extra 20p as he got out of bed. I'm lazy at doing it though.

I have told dds that if they lose money it will not be added on again, no matter how good they are. £2 was a bit much for them to spend anyway and I knew they would lose some of it. Have given them plenty of room to still have enough money. But it's making them behave. Grin Sneaky eh? Wink

I feel a bit bad for dd2 though really. She doesn't have any concept of money - dd1 has a bit of an advantage on her doesn't she.

Hi Sparkler, sorry went to bed last night. My ds1 saves his money to buy something he really wants. I think it will help your younger one when she sees her sister being good and being rewarded.

sparkler i love u..
my ds has been an absolute pain for 2 wks and i cried my little piggy eyes out yesterday.. then I saw your pocket money idea... started this morning.. he has lost 30p, but that means he's only ignored me 3 times today rather than 3 times an hour.. he's happy, I'm happy and he's depserate not to lose anymore

It does work we use the same system for ds who is 12. So good infact we have no need for it anymore.
