Pop-in Dream-dri leaking...would BumG be better?

I use a combination of the Pop-in Dream dri and 2-parter older nappies like Sandys, tots bots with motherease wraps (which I was given by various friends, danke schoen!) I bought the pop-ins new and was very excited about how cute they are, but unless I change them within 2 hours they often leak wee around the legs and sometimes the top too. Bit of a pain as it means a change of clothes. DS1 is now 14 months...perhaps he's a heavy wetter, but another friend with a 7 MO girl has found the same thing. It even happens despite using a bamboo booster on top of the 2 microfibre liners. Hmm

I tried itti tuttos and they leaked even worse! I reckon poppers don't suit DS, he's got a very slim waist and it's difficult with poppers to get a close fit. Shame, cos the cotton liners keep baby really dry.

I was thinking of expanding my collection a bit to hopefully find some more reliable but attractive/slim all-in-one nappies, and wondered whether Bumgenius might be a bit better, as their liners looked a bit more substantial on the pictures, and I liked the idea of organic cotton. Or has anyone tried the new Pop-in +bamboo? I do love the fact that dream dri dries so quickly in the winter, so don't want something that will take eons to dry! Smile

Thanks nappy gurus for your help Grin

Put a (clean) microfibre cloth in as a liner. Mops up gallons.

i use Pop-in+bamboo and older version Pop-ins as well they take a night to dry in the airing cupboard, and around 4 hours on the line on a nice sunny day, my DD2 is 12 weeks and goes about 4 hours in a nappy, i angle the velcro down so it pulls the leg bit up and so a bit tighter, i have never had leaks but both DDs are chunky monkeys

i used BG with DD1, they leaked every time, and i cringe at having to put my hand in the pocket to pull the liner out, however my friend swears by them.

I have velcro BGs for my 14mo DS, love them, very adjustable and have never leaked wee, been using them since he was 3mo. They generally get changed every 3-4 hours but can last 5 or 6 if needed with the two inserts. And they go on just like a disposable so nursery have no problem with them. Dry overnight on an airer indoors. Haven't tried pop-ins so can't give a comparison sorry.
