Is it just my children who bite their own tongues whilst eating?

My DD's are 5.9 and 3.4. They regularly bite their own tongues whilst eating which is weird right? And weirder that they both do it. DD2 has just done it now eating cucumber!

Mine do it all the time. Dd also bites her fingers a lot when putting food in her mouth.

ShowOfHands · 27/06/2012 14:32

Ha. No, 5yo dd does it too. She accidentally bit her finger yesterday as well.

I think it's fairly common.

My DS does this. So do I sometimes.

I still do it now, and the inside of my cheek. Gawd it hurts.

LoonyRationalist · 27/06/2012 14:37

Thank-you all you've reassured me although I'm a bit worried about you still doing it Fluffy & Hully, this means I've got years of it to come & I really really suffer to round up the sympathy.
You bit your tongue, oh gosh poor you, who left it there?

Oh I do it too.

My mum used to say it meant you were about to say something silly Grin.

LoonyRationalist · 27/06/2012 14:44

If it was when they were about to say something silly I'm not sure my dd's would have any tongues left!
