my boys smell quite nice actually. It is sort of dusty and spicey but not unpleasant.
Ds2's room only smelt bad once - when one of his very warped rat-faced feral 'schoolchums' decided to piss in a waste-paper bin rather than tackle the onerous 25 yard trek to the bathroom!

SleepyJess · 27/02/2006 14:00

PML FMF!!! (Not that I'd laugh if it was my house!! Grin)

Yes I'm afraid that boys do seem to smell somewhat when they get to a certain age. We had a family do last weekend and DS1 (13) shared DD's room with step-DS (nearly 18) (DD slept elsewhere obv) and ye Gods it reeked when I went in to wake them up!! If I had to define it I'd say it was a sort of mixture of farts, sweat and feet... [vom emoticon]!

They, themselves do not smell. Even DS1 is partial to wearing copious quantities of Lynx..!

Oh God Lynx, bleugh. My dss is 17 and his room is gross, even though he is fairly clean. It's testosterone, sweat, fart, feet and topped off with Lynx. It's revolting and the ads tell them that the more they spray the more girls will want to sleep with them Shock. I've even gotten his big sister to tell him that it is revolting but to no avail Sad

WideAwake · 27/02/2006 14:58

If lynx is so bad why is is the pressie of choice from aunts and grannies?? uncles know whats right and just buy beer (yes this does work for 14 year olds Shock)

SleepyJess · 27/02/2006 15:56

I quite like the smell of some 'flavours' of Lynx.. but then I like Elizabeth Duke jewellery too so....

crazydazy · 27/02/2006 15:59

My boy will never ever smell.....he smells lovely and will always love the way he smells -am sure of it Grin

He's only 3 atm though.

PeachyClair · 27/02/2006 16:02

I had hyperemesis and some things I encountered then make me vomit still- Lynx Afrika is one of them. Yeesh.

Also included are songs that were popular during pg (hit me baby one more time, and that don't impress me much), gold shoes (wore some whilst pg0 and terracotta coloured clothes (ditto).

But lynx... nooooooooooo

quanglewangle · 27/02/2006 16:04

They smell of wet badger, according to a friend of mine. Almost as bad as Lynx.

SleepyJess · 27/02/2006 16:40

PC, snap re the songs that make you want to puke! I was in early stages of pg with DS2 when I was weaning DD and I used to play her music to distract her enough to eat Blush.. and the mush I was feeding her made me feel soooo sick..

And now, when I hear 'How much is the doggie in the window' and 'Old king cole' (which were on her tape of songs) I ALWAYS want to barf!!!

Glad it's not just me then Smile

As I have 3 boys, i wold be more than prepared to buy expensive aftershave rather than endure cheap muck.

I suppose the generation before us had Brut to contend with, and ols spice of course.

Remember Insignia?? This is really embarassing.. but my first love wore that.. and I used to buy the deodorant version of it just so I could feel close to him (by smelling like him?!!) when we couldn't be together...! (I was 15...)

BARF! (Both at the smell.. and the sentiment!!!)

Elibean · 27/02/2006 17:14

Small boys, tomato soup. eg my nephew, except when he's fresh out of the bath, then he smells like soap and looks like an angel Grin

Blu · 27/02/2006 17:14

DS's wee does smell more strongly than I thought it would. And his pants. He can make the bathroom smell like a mens public toilet with a few ill-aimed splashes.

I feel awful, admitting it to myself - my gorgeous boy...

SleepyJess · 27/02/2006 17:16

Ever notice how small children smell of school when they get home? They lose that when they got older.. I love that warm place on the back of little ones' necks.. it smells of that lovely 'warm boy' or 'warm girl' smell.. bless!

buffythenappyslayer · 27/02/2006 17:16

sj,i did that with jazz aftershave!!i had a thing for this man that lived near me when i was 15.he wore jazz all the time.the smell made my heart jump!!not joking.he was wonderful, well i thought that until i actually went out with him when i was 16 and he was a complete prat!but he did smell good!!
