Non sleeping five year old!

My five year old is still wide awake. She usually is at this time - she is fully wired and would happily be playing with toys if I allowed her. I can either hear her moving about downstairs or if I come upstairs she asks me lots and lots of questions or has an urgent need to tell me stuff. Does anyone else have this? Does it ever change? Thanks

I have 3 non sleeping children (sigh).
It's this time of yr, the long days, i think it's hard wired in some of us.
Gets a lot better by late August, evenings getting longer, ime.

Have you tried blackout curtains/blind over her window?

popsypie · 22/06/2012 20:41

Yes have always had them, but she is scared to be alone without the light fully on - night light won't do, so this is part of the problem too. I don't know how she manages on so little sleep - I know I can't. However it does catch up on her then she has a few really whingey weeks or gets unwell.
