I've been reading in playful parenting book, about how laughter is good for releasing fears, etc, and also lots of fun!
i was wondering what makes your baby laugh?
my dd is nearly 10 months, she laughs at peekaboo games, and since learning to crawl she laughs when I chase her, also when I hide and jump out on her, or if I cover my face with my hair, and then shake it away again.
I'd love to get some more ideas of silly games to play to make her laugh. anything but tickling, which according to playful parenting is not good because the laughter is involuntary and the child feels helpless.
Would love to hear other ideas!

Being held up in the air.

Blowing raspberries at her. Especially when her big sister does it. In fact, anything her big sister does. Grin

Bouncing on my knee while I sing random songs.

She's 10 month old too.

Tickling is bad? I've heard it all now. I guess raspberries on her tummy are a major no no then? How boring. I make animal noises with her animals, like barking and holding her dog up, she thinks that's hilarious. Also weirdly she finds it very funny when I pick up her food from the floor at lunch time but that's not so much a game....guess it is to her! Singing the lone ranger and bouncing her on my knee is a popular one or being held over daddies shoulder.

farts
raspberries
me laughing Grin
boo!
and me loosing my temper and shouting (that's not so sinister - she's 6 months, and i found a couple of months ago that when i get frustrated and go "aaaarrrggghh!" she laughs. it diffuses my temper and turns me back into a human.
