Will switching to bottle stop dd feeding back to sleep?

Dd is nearly 7 months old. I breast fed almost exclusively for the first 4 months and then gradually brought in more and more bottle feeds and for about a month I have just been doing the morning/evening/night feeds. This week I have started giving her a bottle dream feed at midnight but she still wakes at 4.30/5 for a feed. This in itself is not a problem as l love the snuggle of feeding her in bed and she will just feed laying next to me and we both drop off again until about 7. My issue is that I was planning of stopping breastfeeding at the end of the month (hubby and I off to Ibiza for kid free romantic break) and I am very concerned that if I am giving her a bottle she will not snuggle back to sleep with me as she does on the boob and we will then be up for the day at 5am. Anyone done this and know if it makes a difference? I would appreciate input.

ooh a romantic break sounds wonderful but you'll need to think how to manage reducing feeds or you run the risk of mastitis

okay, about feeding back to sleep, short answer is I don't know, and prob no one does; the 4/5am wakings may well stop anyway

[not helpful at all, sorry]

Who's looking after DD while you're away, how long are you going for?

My nanny and sister are going to be staying with her. We will be away 3 nights.

Just to say, prob not. So many 7-8mo babies I know (and it seems many on here) have the exact same problem with 4-5am waking. My DD is 8mo and has started doing the exact same thing! She just won't settle back down like she normally does if she wakes during the night.

I dream feed (am ebf) at 10:30 and stopped all night feeding about a month ago and really don't want to get back into that. She has water if she's thirsty but she only sucked for comfort during the night from about 6mo. Someone said to me that feeding during the night can just become a habit rather than necessity (although I'm sure there are babies who do need a feed during the night) and that you should imagine that if you woke up at 2am every night and had something to eat, you'd soon start waking regularly at 2am and feel hungry. Sounds like I'm saying your dc needs to learn to deal with hunger, which sounds mean(!) but DD eats 3 meals (and mid morning snack) and has 4bf during the day so she's nice and full!

Im living in hope that she'll go back to at least a 5am wake up... thats not too bad for me but this 4am malarky is too much!
