A teething and poop question (sorry if tmi)

6mo DD is teething, and has her first one poking through. Her little cheeks (face) are shiney and red and she is generally grumbly.

I knew to expect a change in her poops from advice on here, but are her poops normal? She's going a lot more (used to have three a day now its more like 5/6) and they are very odd consistency, more like a 'wet fart' poopr poppet. Also, pardon the tmi, but they are rancid. They hace a vinegary smell.

I feel so sorry for her, as it can't be nice pooping that much and the fact they can't feel like a 'proper poo' etc. She is gassier and just a bit more uncomfortale all round. Her poor little bottom was red raw today.

Is this ALL related to her tooth? Hope it's not like this for all 20 odd of them.

We've got exactly the same here but she's 11 months and on her 8 tooth. For the past 3 weeks we've had upto 6 poos a day like you describe. Can't wait until it settles down as like you say must be so uncomfy for them and the smell is something else!

I read somewhere online that some experts believe that teething can make poo watery and more often because they are producing more saliva so swallowing down. No idea how true this is but it might be the cause.

It may or may not be true but makes perfect sense!

i think they can't actually prove it but makes sense to me too :)
