I love my 10-month-old DS, he's brilliant.

But he's like a bloody banshee!!!!

Morning, noon and night. Whether he's upset, happy, sad, angry, hungry or perfectly content. He will let out the most awful screeching!! My neighbours are beginning to glare at me and my head is POUNDING!

Tell me please, someone, how can I get him to stop?! At the moment I just say his name in a very calm voice until he quietens down but five minutes later he starts up again!!!

A dummy?

Tried it. He laughs, takes it out and then screams even louder.

I think he thinks it's a game, but it's exhausting!!

I am sure to be slain but a water pistol worked for us.
Told him "no screaming" then squirted.
The screaming was just a game to him but it was bad and we live in a flat with lots of neighbours.
Cue lots of crying, "comforted and told no screaming"
He did then get to like being squirted and would squirt himself but by then was old enough to understand why he was being put to bed when he tried the screaming again.

A watergun...?! LMAO! Funniest thing I've read in a while.

We're getting to the stage where I tell him no, and then I count to three, and then if he does it again he gets a tap on the back of the hand and no attention for 5 minutes.

It seems to be working alright - by the time the five minutes are up he doesn't do it again for a very long time, so hopefully it'll stick.
