Why is it so hard to say goodbye?

A father's view as to why it is so hard to say goodbye to our newborn babies. Such Sweet Sorrow

What do you all think? Was it difficult to say goodbye, or just a relief?

How about 'necessity'.... ? Never read such a load of selfish, sentimental crap.

Thanks for taking the time to read it. That wasn't quite the point though. I wasn't asking why we have to go and say goodbye but rather why it is so hard when they are so oung and make your life so tough.

Have you never heard the expression 'absence makes the heart grow fonder?' PFB much?

I thought it was lovely. My DH said he felt something similar
