Dunno, but as I am in the same position with a 8 and 5 yr old, I'll nick any ideas FF.

Encouraging a bit of team spirit can work wonders.
I told my two that I was coming up to tidy the playroom in half an hour with a big black bin liner
They worked together really well and did a fantastic job of clearing up - and stopped squabbling.

At half term I always try and make sure they have a little space from each other as well - even if it's different activities in different rooms - otherwise they do go a bit stir crazy.

Cooking always goes down well here.

Tbh though I couldn't stay in all day ever - we get cabin fever. Fortunately this week mine are swimming every morning, so get their exercise at the beginning of the day and are more 'chilled' for the rest of the day. But we still usually pop out at least once during the afternoon. (I'm not an inside person!)

we're off swimming this afty. So far they have trashed their bedroom by building a hhhuuuge tower of pillows, duvets, beanbags etc and been jumping off the bed onto them. Then we had an hour-long sword-fight with the spoils of yesterday's outing to the Armouries. Then we have made (and eaten) choc brownies. But I have to get out of the house this afty or there will be tears before bedtime....
