I'm sure this has been asked many times before but if anyone has any wise words to help I would be very grateful.

My 7 yo DD has asked me how babies are made. In the past I've explained that mummy has an egg and daddy a seed and that makes a baby. That seemed to be enough information but know she's asking more and wants to know how the seed gets in to mummy.

How do you explain this sensitively to a 7 year old?

Many thanks in advance

Well you can be straightforward and explain that a daddy's penis goes into a mummy's vagina and that's how the seed gets there. Alternatively I think there are some good books around - try amazon and see what the reviews say.

In the instance of our dd, we were quite straight forward as per the pp. She asked when she was around 6ish so I told her. But it's depends on the individual child too I think. For instance, dd's cousins who are one year older and six months younger respectively are totally different characters and would have found the whole thing hilarious/not understood etc......nothing wrong with that; they just aren't ready to hear it yet.
