I'm a working mum and I don't think that ! I think that all SAHMs must sit on the sofa being bored out of their heads all day - like I was when I was a SAHM !

Since I went back to work I have done baking every saturday with dd and she does craft all the time - in the evening for half an hour and all weekend - or so it seems !!!

So stop generalising !!

mummytosteven · 21/02/2006 19:41

I give DS crayons and paper, and occasionally get the playdoh out, but M & T groups and brave friends cater for any more hardcore and messy activities involving paint/glue/glitter etc.

LadyTophamHatt · 21/02/2006 19:45

Twiglett....that papier mache dinosaur.
Is is green with yellow spots?
Comes in a white box?
Tiny packet of glue and the pain comes in miniscule pots about as big as a thimble?

we have a half made one too.

And it was a present!!!!

Scatterbrain please reassure me that your 'bored' comment is some wierd attempt at being sarcastic???
I wish i had f*ckin time to be bored, my life is very fulfilled ta.

ShaysMummy · 21/02/2006 19:47

i work three days a week and i think work is easier and less stressful, although i enjoy being at home with my son.
so i dont think its all fun and lovliness to stay at home.

mykidsmum · 21/02/2006 19:48

You are a disgrace the lot of you - call yourselves mothers

On another note is it pancake day today- better had be - I rushed home from work and have just finished making and eating them only to realise that there hasn;t been any of the usual pancake day rubbish in the newspapers.

Have I jumped the gun???

IamBlossom · 21/02/2006 20:36

It is today. I ignored it hate the damn things. I got a pang of never doing crafts with my DS who does them the whole time at nursery so we had a playdoh moment on Sunday. And I mean moment, it lasted as long as it took to get all colours out of ther tubs, mix them all together, drop bits on the floor which attached themselves to his socks, which he then trod into the new carpet.

I won't be bothering again.

bossykate · 21/02/2006 20:38

i think it is next tuesday - better be or i've miserably failed my lot!

Clayhead · 21/02/2006 20:38

Isn't it Tuesday 28th?

soapbox · 21/02/2006 20:45

Oh flip!!!!

Think I should have given the perfect mothers SAHM thread a miss - was trying to hard

soapbox · 21/02/2006 20:45

too

scatterbrain · 21/02/2006 20:50

mykidsmum - no not being sarcastic - I said I had been bored so I assumed everyone else must be ! Worst 5 yrs of my life !

Each to their own eh ! lol

scatterbrain · 21/02/2006 20:54

PS. If I wanted to be sarcastic I can assure you that you would know it !

ssd · 21/02/2006 20:54

god I love pancake day, got my maple syrup today!

yum!!

Bozza · 21/02/2006 20:58

Next Tuesday I am sure.

So cod why do you not do crafts with your kids? I do crafts and play-doh and cooking and puzzles and shopping and allow DD to sit on my knee while I pluck my own eyebrows (can't afford to get them done) and work 3 days a week.

scatterbrain · 21/02/2006 21:07

its hard with fins !

MrsSpoon · 21/02/2006 21:10

scatterbrain, sitting on the sofa all day! How??? Tell me how you did it? I wouldn't mind a couple of days of that. There are some days I literally do not sit down until the kids are in bed, I don't do toddler groups and I don't have a wide circle of friends that I meet for coffee, TBH I don't know how I would fit it in.

scatterbrain · 21/02/2006 21:12

Mrs Spoon - it's called PND love ! Crippled me for 5 yrs - could not summon energy to get arse off sofa !

Anyone else wanna ask me anything ?

PAPIER MACHE !!!!

It has so not kicked off !

MrsSpoon · 21/02/2006 21:18

Sorry to hear that Scatterbrain, it wasn't clear from your earlier post, and I just felt a bit harumghfed that you may have felt we were all sitting about.
