Minki Sizing

Hi all,
I need a bit of advice re Minki sizing, as I find it confusing.
I have a large standard minki that I tried on my ds overnight, the first time it leaked, the second I stuffed it with a terry nappy and a snugglenaps terry prefold - it was enormous, so anyway, that worked.
I like the squishiness of the Minki, and would like to use one at night, but I think the large that I have is a bit too big for my 15 month old, and am wondering whether I should go for a medium standard minki instead - or would it not take enough overnight boosting?
Would a large slinki minki be a better bet - the large is practically up to his armpits?
I am surprised at the hugeness of the large Minki, as it supposed to fit from 18lbs and my ds is around 22 or 23 (I think??)
Advice gladly received, thanks.
Oh and if anyone is selling a nearly new Minki??

I meant to say, the large standard minki is up to his armpits, we haven't tried the slinki minki.

Maisiemog I found the minki sizings weird. Bought a minki yo yo for ds overnight and it is tiny. He is a thin 2yr old who si 29lbs but very tall. Once it had one stuffing in it was too tight for him. It is a large sizing so no idea how it is worked out as its supposed to be for 18mths to 3yrs old!!
Have just put it on ebay

Nemo, I'll have a look at Ebay, what is it like?

I have a large minki which is now a nice size on my ds who is 1, and about 25lb. they are quite high in the rise, but that's great for us because he is very tall!

we had a couple of slinkis too, but he has grown out of them now. they're shorter and slimmer, but i found that they didn't fasten around him far enough and the velcro on the tabs was so long it rubbed on him... does that make sense?

I only usually stuff with a terry nappy

Nemo1977 · 21/02/2006 21:50

the yo yo?
to be honest didnt think it was that good considering it is for bedwetters. It is aio but the sides are fastened with poppers but the material is a silky type so of course if you have a heavy wetter and the fleece gets too wet it leaks onto the sides.

maisiemog · 21/02/2006 22:24

Goldstarlover, I think the slinki sounds better for my ds, who is below average in height. He isn't chubby at all, so has a relatively slim waist, do you think the slinki would suit this type of build?
Thanks
Nemo I saw the YoYo, I thought they were trainer pants?

yeah you'd probably be better with a slinki

Nemo1977 · 22/02/2006 08:32

maisiemog on minki sight they are said to be excellent for bedwetters who will sometimes use the toilet. DS is trained in the day so only needed something overnight but that he would be able to go to the loo if he wanted to. So my meos are no good as he wouldnt be able to pull them down when he needs to go.

Nemo1977 · 22/02/2006 08:34

meant site not sight..excuse the brain but been up most of the night

goldstarlover · 22/02/2006 21:06

maisiemog... just had a look at my minki and it's actually a medium! so i guess they do come up pretty huge! lol

maisiemog · 22/02/2006 21:59

Yeah Nemo, I posted on UKParents Nappy forum as well and got much the same feedback. I'm probably going to try a Large Slinki.
Thanks for the feedback guys.

Hi Maisiemog -I put my ds 4 month old in large minki huggle as a night nappy and it fits really well! He weighs 16lbs 14oz so is under the recommend weight. He has got quite chunky thighs though!

maisiemog · 23/02/2006 00:01

I do use Minki Huggles in Large, but you could put the Huggle IN the large Minki Pocket nappy I have, plus a teatowel. It's hhoooooge!
Huggles are great though aren't they!
We have two aqua Huggles.
