clingy child

ive noticed my child is very clingy and has been for a while, she tells me she loves me several times before she leaves the house to go to school and if i dont answer immediately she just repeats herself. im finding that if i even leave the room she is asking where i am, this is worrying me alot and would like to know if anyone else has the same problem. she is 10 and i have her part time as its shared custody equally.

Maybe she really misses you when she is not with you so wants extra reassurance when you are around? it doesn't seem that unusual to me tbh. My 9yo DD (who is with me all the time in a very traditional set up) also tells me she loves me lots of times in the day - when she wakes in the morning, when she leaves for school, when she comes homs... - and always asks where I will be when she goes to bed. As the parent of boys aged 18 and 13 I quite like the fact that one of my kids skill needs me so it's clearly a matter of perspective Grin

thankyou for the reply, im glad to hear that this is normal, i think im prob reading too much into stuff that clearly isnt there. i must admit, i too like the cuddles and the fact i can still read her a story at night, i will make the most of it while it lasts. :)
