DS is unhappy at nursery. Any ideas?

DS has been going to the same nursery for a year and a half. He?s always been fairly happy but his key worker left earlier this year and he has found it really hard. He tells me every morning that he doesn?t want to go to nursery, he wants to do x, y or z instead (typically stay with mummy, go to work, go to grandma?s house). Most mornings he?s very clingy when I drop him off. He used to be a little chatterbox but he?s become very quiet. He talks about being sad because the other children hit him and shout at him. I don?t believe every word he says (he has quite an imagination and he?s 2!) and I?ve been waiting it out to let him adjust to his new key worker but it hasn?t improved and yesterday he told DH that he has no friends :( I?ve asked for a meeting with his key worker today to discuss how he?s getting on while I?m not there, what his relationships are like with the other children and how we can help him settle a bit better. Does anyone have any similar experiences and did anything help? Any suggestions?
