Beach shoes for toddler

KD0706 · 28/05/2012 17:18

We are shortly going on a beach holiday with DD who will be 2y2m.
I want to get her some sort of shoes so she's not in her bare feet.

Any recommendations? I'm anxious that the standard jelly shoes I had as a child might dig in, give her blisters etc.

Ds is 2.5 and this summer and last has had no problems with the jellies from next

Croc types? My dcs have had various pairs of supermarket crocs no problem but the pair of jellies dd had from Next gave her blisters.

Otherwise I think Doodles make a foam type sandal.

MousyMouse · 28/05/2012 17:24

crocs? or these, material similar to crocs

Mishy1234 · 28/05/2012 18:19

We've used Konfidence neoprene beach boots, as both DC have very narrow feet and none of the Crocs type shoes stay on their feet. The only thing I would say is that they do seem to retain water, so be careful when you're taking them off!

I am eyeing up some Teva infant psyclone sandals if anyone has an opinion on them??

these

We bought some made from a wetsuit fabric with a sole for £3.00 from Sport's Direct, they have been fab!

FrancescaCarrington · 29/05/2012 07:40

Matalan do some rubber soled neoprene ones really similar to the Konfidence ones and only about £3. We had them last year and they wash well and last well.

I got my DD these fab shoes from Nike last year, they had rubber soles and a wet suit material top bit. Think they were called toddler something, she could go in the sea in them and wear them round town. We liked them so much we got two pairs!

Ds aged 2 has clarks doodles sandals they're great he went in a water play area on sun and they were dry in about 15 mins.

Hi! Sainsburys do splash shoes (rubber soles, mesh fabric, velcro straps) for £3 or £4 depending on the size. I'd receommend them, they've been great!

Thanls for the heads up on the Doodles wish. I've bought DS some today and they are great.

Second the recommendation for doodles - great all summer long - DS had some last summer and we just bought the same ones (different size) for this summer. V. good value, comfy and lightweight.

EddieIzzardIsMine · 31/05/2012 16:18

Theres some called Sun San Sandels/Saltwater Sandals - gorgeous hardwearing sandals especially made for going in the sea and on the beach

Napdamnyou · 01/06/2012 20:33

I live in the Caribbean and everyone here puts toddlers in Crocs.
