Cheerios

I have just discovered Cheerios! Bless that mother in asda who thrust a box in my hand saying ' fear not brave Lady - these will sort out all your finger food dilemas'. My DD is in a trance - "To play with or to eat? that is the question dear friends". Is there a National Curriculm Level for Cherrio Dexterity? ( and what happens to the middles at the Cherrios factory?!?!?).

My question to you is this:

What is the ratio of Cherrios to mouth . V . Cherrios on the floor?

And: "Will this ratio get better?"

When they get older you can give them red liquorice laces so they can string them into necklaces.

Some things never change! DS learned finger food with these and he is 24!

Main difference then is that they were honey nut cheerios, changed now because of allergies I guess.

Houseworkprocrastinator · 27/05/2012 18:00

I used to put them on the tray of the walker, quiet for hours! So worth picking them up from the floor.

Bumperlicious · 27/05/2012 19:36

No need to pick them up of the floor. If they're crawling they'll find the later!

reastie · 28/05/2012 14:43

Ohhh, DD is 15 mo and has never had cheerios - maybe I shall have to get some for her then - so they are finger foods without the milk then? [clueless]

SquirtedPerfumeUpNoseInBoots · 28/05/2012 14:46

I remember we had a book that had little holes in the pictures to put the cheerios in. Hours of fun.

SquirtedPerfumeUpNoseInBoots · 28/05/2012 14:47

book is here

seabuckthorn · 28/05/2012 17:39

So Cheerios are ok then? Why did the HV look at me like I was offering DS2 crack as a finger food? I thought perhaps the sugar? I feel robbed!
Darn her, I love DS2 would love Cheerios!

seabuckthorn · 28/05/2012 17:40

The honey nut ones were amazing!

SecrectFarleysNibbler · 28/05/2012 18:15

Changing my name to SecretCherrioNibbler!!!

Love the book!

Our currant ratio is 1-20 I think!!

I corrupted some uninitiated mums at toddlers this morning when I whipped my little tub out!

Oh DD has never had Cherrios. I have failed as a mother Sad

BikeRunSki · 28/05/2012 18:21

It all depends if you boycott Nestle.

startail · 28/05/2012 18:22

Never ever substitute coco pops if you have dark tiles.

You never ever sweep them all up without scrunching several to dust.

SecrectFarleysNibbler · 28/05/2012 18:24

Ah! Got the asda ones! Do Nestlé make them for asda??

I now understand the darker side of the Cherrio fetish.... The broom has become a permenant fixture in my kitchen! At first I religiously swept and binned the rejected floor bound Cherrios - by the end of the day that stratergy had been shoved - I now have growing pile in the corner that is being continuously added to as the day goes on until it looks like someone just emptied a Packet of the blessed things in the corner!

You can boycott Nestle and use Honey Nut Loops instead.

MoaningMicroraptorRoarsAgain · 29/05/2012 18:01

Asda do some pretty good own brand cheerio type hoops, their children's cereals are pretty cheap good and we boycott Nestle too.

Janoschi · 29/05/2012 18:12

DD prefers Crunchy Bran. As do I.... nom nom.

SecrectFarleysNibbler · 29/05/2012 20:40

Dd loves them so much that she is now stashing them for later - just changed her nappy and found two down there!!!

Have swept up today's Cherrios and made mental note to self to get a dog!
