hello all,

my 3 yo dd has in the last couple of weeks started to wee on the toilet floor and we are at a loss as to why. She has been dry for some time now but seems to be not making it in time.

I have asked her why and she says that she just needs to rush.

Could it be that she is just too into what she is doing to be bothered to tear herself away and go?

Maybe she's getting distracted and forgetting to go, or maybe she's too lazy to go, or more interested in other things. That was what happened with my little sister when she was about 3 - she used to wet herself all the time because because she preferred to stay out and play rather than come inside for the toilet. She used to hang on and hang on, then when it was too late she'd just go back to playing.

She eventually grew out of it. My mum tells me that she just went back to asking her every half an hour if she needed the toilet.

My friends dd started doing this and it turned out she had a urinary tract infection.
