new Tots Bots Easy Fits fraying? anyone else had this?

Hi

Got my Tots Bots Easy Fits that Id bought through the Tesco Clubcard Exchange deal that's on at the moment, and was feeling very pleased with myself...until I started to prewash them today.

The stitching around the edges of the inserts have started to fray.Sad I have only washed them twice today, once on 40 degrees and once on 60 degrees. The only thing I can say I did 'wrong' was a small amount of fabric conditioner in the first wash at 40 as I washed them with other laundry- I know that's a no no, but I figured that mainly affects absorpency and when I do few other washes with them to get them ready for use the fabric conditioner would wash out.

I can't see how that's affected the stitching? Has anyone else had this? I guess the good thing about buying them from Tesco is that it should befairly easy to return them (and stick to my fave Bambino Mio Solos!)

I guess I'm asking this because I'm wondering whether its worth exchanging them for a new pack or just abandoning the Tots Bots. I checked my Bamboozle Stretch which has been washed about 10 times now and that's fraying as well now Sad

Thanks!

I think I would contact Tots Bots direct - I think you'd get more success with them.

Is it actually fraying ie there are threads hanging that are continuing to pull out? (faulty) Or is it where the edge of the nappy is overlocked, little bits of thread are now after washing poking out a little from under the stitching , giving a 'woolly' edge (because it's a terry pile as opposed to plain woven fabric) but there are not long threads hanging, nor is it unravelling? (normal)

i've returned them now, but it does sound more like the latter scenario you describe. but neither my bambino mio solos nor my other bamboo or microfibre inserts (ebay cheapies and also lollipop brand) did this. i guess i could have just snipped them off but like i say the other nappies i have didn't do this. was disappointed given how highly they're rated...
