Constipation in newborn, advice re Aptamil

Hi,

Our daughter is 10 days old and formula fed using Aptamil. For the past 2 days she has been constipated and passed only a couple of tiny firm poos. She is passing lots of wind & passed meconium within 24 hours so I don't think there is a serious problem. I have tried giving some cooled boiled water but still waiting for a 'result'. Just wondering if anybody has experienced similar or has any advice??

My DD had constipation when I was feeding her aptamil. I changed to sma gold and tada! No more.

Maybe consider changing the milk? Although I know this may not be the case for your DD.

My ds had constipation from about a week old as swiss said try changing milk if that doesn't work speak to the doctor my HV was keen to just keep giving water to see if it past but when i spoke to the doc he put him on SMA lactose free which sorted it within a few days. I would try diff formula before trying lactose free as it can actually make them lactose intolerant so would be a last resort.

Also if you try pushing her knees un to her tummy and back down slowly 6 times it will help tho don't do this if she has any problems with her hips. Remember anything new you try will take a few days by the time it gets through her system
