My dd is 7 and was always a really good sleeper, but about 6 months ago she just won't go to sleep. she's frequently still awake at 11 o'clock and its wearing me out. she gets out of bed and get all her toys out and nothing i do seems to keep her in her bed. I've tried warm baths, night lights, no lights at all, lavender on her pillow, stories, letting her watch a dvd for half an hour in bed, taking her toys away if she starts messing, and even shouting when i have been at the end of my tether!

Juat don't know what to do with her, i would really appreciate any suggestions.

Also what time do you think is an appropriate bedtime for a 7 year old?

Has her diet changed at all? Is she sleeping in later in the mornings? Maybe she is just growing a bit older and doesn't need quite as much sleep. Does she do much physical exercise in the day? Have heard that TV too close to bedtime can cause sleep problems or something! - was posted by a MNetter a few weeks ago. Sorry can't remember thread. What time does she go to bed? My DS1 is 9 and goes to bed at 8 pm. DD1 who is nearly 6 goes to bed at 7.30 pm.
