....

Rolled onto their tummy
Said a word
Able to drink out of a sippy cup (without you having to hold it)
Crawl
Walk

Just wondering if there was a rough age for each thing, as i'm itching for DD to do little bits Grin

I thought this was a question about our memories - just came on to say "no" Grin

posypoo · 13/05/2012 20:30

Crawled at 8 months, walked at 15 months. Said 'cat' at about 9 months. I remember littler things seeming exciting early on though, like first time she batted a toy on the baby gym, first time she babbled dadadada, first time she had a fit of giggles, first time she ate a kiwi, etc.

GnocchiNineDoors · 13/05/2012 20:37

Haha, BackforGood no I wanted ages Grin Glad that there are people who do remember, very impressed with FrankWippery recalling all ages for all DCs.

BackforGood · 13/05/2012 20:49

I bet Frank is just making it up Wink

my memory can't be that much worse than everyone else's, surely ?

FrankWippery · 13/05/2012 20:54

I'm not, honest! I have a stupidly good capacity for remembering inane bollocks such as the above. The first three DC are now 18, 17 and 15 and short arse DD3 is three.

Ginger4justice · 13/05/2012 20:56

Roll over - 6 months,
Speak - Hmmm I think she just about says narna for banana now (12m)
Sippy cup - 7 months
Crawl - 7 months, 6 months for a zombie crawl (i.e. dragging her legs)
Walk - first few steps about 10 months. Choosing to walk rather than crawl about 11 and a half.

My memories are a bit vague.

monkeymoma · 13/05/2012 20:56

I remember the walking (12 mths), that's it Blush!

Kaloobear · 13/05/2012 21:00

Confused wish I hadn't read this thread!

(DD is 8 months and has only rolled about 4 times (a few months ago), no sign of crawling, never even tries to grab the sippy cup and only babbles...)

Janoschi · 13/05/2012 23:08

Roll over - 10 months
Speak - said Bobobob today... probably doesn't count.
Sippy cup - 4 months
Crawl - 9 months on the dot
Walk - almost but not quite. Stands alone but not quite brave enough to make the step.

DD is 12 months,

MirandaWest · 13/05/2012 23:21

Am rubbish at this sort of thing Blush

Rolled onto their tummy DS 4.5 months, DD about 11.5 months
Said a word no idea at all. They both talk a lot now (8 and 6)
Able to drink out of a sippy cup (without you having to hold it) again no idea. Before a year I think
Crawl DS 8 months. DD moved at 10.5 months but weird bottom shuffle type thing. She didn't actually crawl until she was 2
Walk - both at 15 months

notcitrus · 13/05/2012 23:25

Rolled - round 4mo
Word - dada for dad about 12mo, nothing else until nearly 19mo
Sippy cup - around a year?
Crawl - about 9mo
Walk - few days after first birthday as soon as the rellies had gone, as is traditional!

Dd is 3mo and very close to rolling - she gets onto her side but so far falls back to her back.

CaseySchraeger · 13/05/2012 23:33

Rolled onto tummy -- DS 10 weeks, the DDs around 4mo

Said a word -- both DS and DD1 around 11 months, DD2 is 14.5 months and still hasn't (but she also has a hearing loss so we are expecting some delay)

Able to drink out of a sippy cup -- not sure, because
Stopping thinking that emptying contents of sippy cup all over floor is the funniest thing ever -- quite late Grin

Crawl -- DS just before 5mo, DD1 about 6-7 months, DD2 just before 6 months

Walk -- DS 9mo, DD1 a week before first birthday, DD2 a week after first birthday (she'd been the earliest of them all to start pulling up and cruising, so I'd thought I would have another early walker on my hands, but instead she got diverted onto learning to climb)

nooka · 13/05/2012 23:55

I have an 11 and just turned 13 year old and dh and I argue about when their 'firsts' were. My experience is that these things seem incredibly important at the time and then slip away as other milestones come and go.

Kaloobear don't feel bad, children do different things at different times and it doesn't necessarily (speaking in general terms) mean anything very much. My ds started to get to places (rolling and then commando crawling at first) earlier than most of the other babies we knew but it didn't progress to any sort of physical prowess, he just doesn't really do sitting still Grin Likewise he started talking relatively late and now hardly ever shuts up!

PuffPants · 14/05/2012 00:06

Frank, what words were your DCs saying at 6 months?

treadwarily · 14/05/2012 00:12

No, how do you remember all that?!

I can tell you that they got off to school weaned, walking and talking. Does that count?

SchrodingersMew · 14/05/2012 00:51

Rolled over - a couple of days old but could only do it for a few weeks. The mw said it was something to do with him being so small? From 6 months he has only rolled a couple of times, he can get most of the way over.

Said a word - he sort of babbles mamamama when he gets a bit upset nothing else otherwise, I didn't know it was normak for any more than that sort of babbling before a year? Confused

Crawl - has no interest in it yet.

Sippy cup - 6 monthsish.

Walk - the past couple of weeks while holding your hands.

SchrodingersMew · 14/05/2012 00:51

He's 8 months ish btw.

BumsyClugger · 14/05/2012 01:16

Rolled over both ways - 4 months and 1 day Smile
Said a word - Dada and mama sounds from 4-5 months ish, then came potato at about 8 months (said Keith lemon stylee, without the po - taytoooooo) Grin
Sippy cup - 4 months.
Crawl - commando crawling at around 5-6 months, crawling properly at 6, nearly 7 months.
Walking - 10 months and 10 days. To be precise. (it was only 6 weeks ago. Will probably forget in a few months Grin)

Pascha · 14/05/2012 07:10

Rolled about 5 months
Said a word - around a year, still waiting for anything much at 20 months
Sippy cup no idea
crawled 9 months
Walking a few days before 1st brthday.

FrankWippery · 14/05/2012 08:17

Puff DDs 2&3 said Mama . DD1 said 'gog' as in dog. Repeatedly. Mama and Dada followed by around 8m with DD1.

DD2 was a ridiculously early speaker, but I put this mainly down to the fact that her older sister is only 11 months older than her and she, quite literally, did some major milestones at the same time in real time iyswim. She was a fluent speaker by about 17m, whereas DD1 and DD2 had a handful of words by 14m and were not completely fluent (as in could have a conversation that made sense) until around 2/2½.

DS3 was terribly early, so everything was rather delayed for him. He was pretty deaf until he was about 5 and the only person that could make any sense of his words was DD1. Once he'd had his grommets put in, he learnt to speak fairly quickly.

BenderBendingRodriguez · 14/05/2012 08:25

Rolled over: DS only ever bothered to roll once or twice before he started crawling Hmm; DD, 4-5mo.
Said a word: really can't remember, although I do recall it was 'no' Hmm DD is only 9mo so nothing yet.
Sippy cup: about 7mo for both.
Crawled: DS, 10mo. DD has developed her own hybrid bum shuffle/zombie drag method of locomotion so not sure she's going to bother.
Walked: DS, 13mo.
