Wind burn - product suggestion?

It's suddenly got chilly and windy here (Australia) and my 20 month old has really pink cheeks and chin after a walk outside. Yes, he looks cute but is there anything I can put on his skin that will help to protect his little cheeks?

He actually has a mild rash which he has had for ages and the pharm said would just go by itself. I've tried using oatmeal cream on his skin before for this rash and it made it a lot worse. So any non oatmeal suggestions would be good.

Was thinking of billy goat cream?

Thank you in advance.

I think Weleda do some kind of protective cream - I will see if I can google it

vaseline is great for this, do you have that in australia?

Elizabeth Arden's 8 hour cream works for my DC. both have eczema which I use Aveeno on with great results, but for windy & colder days I use the above.

Oo, bloody vaseline! Why didn't I think of that - the most simple thing.

Perfect, I also have some 8 hour cream so I will try vaseline and 8 hr first and then have a look for Weleda, I'm pretty sure we have that over here.

I like Aveeno but I think it's oatmeal and I'm a bit iffy about using that after it brought his rash up so badly before.

Thanks ever so much, I knew I could rely on Mumsnet.
