Now what do I do? I can't afford £1k/PCM because I quite simply don't have that left at the end of each month and there's nothing else we can sell/change. House is on market, but mortgage due to drop in November but it still won't cover the difference.

Fucking fucked off. I feel like I've wasted the last year on my access course and getting offers to a Russell group uni!

Study in the evening?

I've just been looking at the info about it. Is it because your household income is over their threshold or some other reason?

You can apply for the Parents Learning Allowance, which could help a little? Does your university offer a bursary? That could help too.

It must be very disappointing, especially at this stage.

We are over or our outgoings aren't enough, our mortgage is £1200 a month FFs! I'm a SAHM at the moment too so dh wage covers everything. I have six weeks to go on my access course and am so despondent.

Are you eligible for any of the grants etc? I'm sure you know this, but why not give them a ring and go over it with them. I know a few people have had problems and got it sorted out in the end.

It must be disheartening when the end is nigh on the access course.

We're investigating what can be done! Argh!!!!!!

Hi OP. Have you managed to get any more info?
I've had a look online for you, but it only tells you what you can get, not what the cut off is.
