what age did your child stop using a buggy?

Just wondering what age we might be able to get rid of our double buggy in favour of a single for our younger one? I know everyone is different and it depends on how long the journey is, but a rough idea would be lovely!

around 3 and a half

I think I only used mine once after DS turned two, for a long day out at the zoo when I knew he would need a quick nap. It was mainly dropping the nap that prompted me to stop using the buggy as he would often fall asleep in it then party all night . It was handy for carrying the shopping though.

DS is 2.7 and rarely uses the buggy at "leisure" times when we can walk at toddler-speed, but still uses it for the trip to nursery when we are in a hurry - he can and does walk the distance but it takes him 40 minutes whereas we can do it in 10-15 with the buggy. I'm hopeful of reducing its use gradually over the next few months.

I think it was just after 3 and a half. I don't drive so regularly walk 3 or 4 miles a day, sometimes more. Ds is and was a good walker but couldn't have managed that any younger than he was.

About 4.5yo. Mostly terrible walkers & I haven't the patience.

DD1 was 2 but dd2 came along 6 months earlier and I hate the double buggy.

We don't have to walk far or fast though - we don't walk to nursery for example on the way to work - so I have time for the ambles of a toddler. If I needed to get somewhere at a definite time I would still use the buggy and dd1 is 2.8 now.
