who uses ebay cheapies and what do you think of them?

i just ordered one and it arrived today. i have been doing a trial of branded nappies recently as well. i haven't used the ebay one yet but tbh it seems pretty decent on first glance! the only issue i have with it is that the inner fleece seems quite thick (more like a fleece liner, so maybe that's a good thing anyway?). it seems more like the fuzzi bunz nappy in my trial which i have used and the inner lining seemed ok but looked like it would wear out more quickly than the others- so i am thinking about the same with the ebay cheapie.

this is the one i bought, this is the ebay page.

my favourite branded one was the bambino mio solo. would love some of these second hand to save money but as they're quite new there's not many on teh second hand market.

so was wondering what you all thought of the ebay ones?

and does anyone use them exclusively or are they best as a cheaper way to bulk up the numbers once you've invested in some branded ones?

thanks in advance, i've learnt loads from this nappies board.

I've bought quite a few nappies from ebay but I've only bought branded ones that have been sold in new condition. So far I have not been disappointed. The motherease and tots bots ones that I've bought have been the genuine article as far as I can tell but have been a fraction of the price in the shops. I have also bought baby clothes and have been disappointed with some of them - although they have been sold as BNWOT they have clearly been worn. Maybe people that buy cloth nappies tend to be more honest!

Thanks for your reply. I think what I was getting at ws the unbranded eBay nappies, have you got any experience of those?

I'm using some second hand ebay cheapies! they are going well. Wash well contain leaks ect
In fact tuesday night DS spent the whole night in ebay cheapie because he fell asleep before we put on his night nappy. It was fine!

I've got a few posher (expensive) pocket nappies and they do feel nicer but mainly the feel nicer bit is on the outside so not touching DS.

they're the exact nappies we bought from ebay! Grin
(that one on your first link isn't the same nappy - we got the ones on your second link)

when we first got them we got a lot of leakage, but we worked out that it was because her legs weren't chubby enough to fill even the smallest rise.
she started fitting them at about 19 weeks, and they're fine now.

we don't replace the inner when it gets wet because it's icky putting your hand inside.

the fleece isn't too bad - you have to fasten the rise press-studs before you put the inner in. (and then pull it about a bit)

the inners are a bit wide, but they fit with a wiggle.

and then we use the inners as boosters for the night nappies

as fir your seond question - we use them more as an extra.
but then we have millions.
my favourites are nature babies diddy diapers, followed by little lambs (outers are fab, but prefer the cotton nappy bits)

outers, we have little lambs (which are my favourite), thirsties, motherease.

(the ones on the ebay page are press-stud fastenings and your other link is velcro)

this our seller

nickelhasababy · 11/05/2012 17:06

the designs (if you scroll down) we got were:
(we asked them to send 5 random)
123,121,126,128,127

thanks for your replies, sorry for the late response, we've been away for the weekend on a babymoon Grin

nickelhasababy sorry my first link was for the cotton velcro versions and the second for the page that shows all styles they do including the cotton velcro ones, they're all the same brand but different styles. the ones i bought were the cotton velcro ones. my worries about early bobbling aren't so great now that ive seen that my bamboozle stretch has started to bobble after only a handful of washes (and i'm pretty meticulous about using the laundry tabs) Confused

the seller you used seems to be slightly cheaper than the one i used so i will probably go with them- thanks!

i'm getting the impression people use an array of nappies now so i think i'll get some more ebay cheapies but stick to the branded ones i like.

thanks all for your help!

ah, i see. :)

nickelhasababy · 14/05/2012 17:03

I think they do bobble a bit, but I don't think DD notices.
we always use a liner (cos it makes the poo less messy)

I tried an ebay cheapie. I got it because the print was a lovely rip off of Itti's like-a-tiger which I love. I tried it three times. Each time, DS3's face was a picture as the wee just ran down his leg. I have NO IDEA why it did that. I have used tonnes of different types of cloth nappies and it is the only one it ever happened with - every time!
