HI all - I am breastfeeding my 5 and half baby boy and every now and then, so probably 2 out of about 8 poos a day his poo has a bit of a greenish colour to it - he is putting weight on fine, he does have 1 bottle of aptamil at bed time could this be the reason? X

5 1/2 months or weeks? Not sure age makes much of a difference but when I started with a bottle of formula the iron in it made my babies poo go green.

Probably worth posting in the Bottle & Breastfeeding forum (its in the Feed the World section). I think green poo is related to the baby getting too much foremilk, ie not staying on each breast long enough to get the hindmilk, but there's lots of experts on there who'll be able to help.

This happened with my ds. It's when they've taken a lot of the fore milk. Very normal Smile

My 3wo DS sometimes has yellow poo, sometimes he has green poo. He's EBF.

I mentioned it to the MW and she didn't seem to think it was anything to worry about as long as he was getting plenty of milk. He can spend up to 45 minutes on the breast so he's certainly hanging around long enough to get hindmilk.
