Hi

I go back to work on Wednesday after having my son around 8 months ago. I'm lucky enough to only go back part time - 2 days a week - and my husband is looking after him on the Wed and my MIL on the Thurs.

I've been clothes shopping and i've still got a pregnancy belly. Is this normal? Normally I don't notice it, but suddenly all of my clothes seem to highlight it to me. I feel like i'm going crazy!

Please tell me encouraging things about how no one will be looking at my belly, and any tips would be appreciated!

TIA

It has been a while since they last saw you, so they won't be contrasting you to what you looked like before. Also, I think people expect women to look a little different post-baby...

It's normal, it takes a while, you could do something like pilates it does help with tummy. I do a series of exercises that I found on you tube, something like core pilates program, it's 10 minutes and I tried to do it regularly and my pouch def went down. 8 months is a short time, considering what your body has gone through. You notice it more because of your clothes, but likely your colleague will not notice. I know when I went back I was very conscious of it, and I used an old trick by wearing large necklaces or colouful scarf so that friends would notice my accessories, not my tummy!!!

And if you can't lose it yet, hide it with some support underwear? Gok wan range in sainsburys is fab for flattening podgy tum IME!

Oh God, I have to go and try on my work clothes...I'm back in a couple of weeks and pretty sure the trousers won't fit!
Unless you're a stripper/model or something, I'm sure people won't care one jot (I hope!)
