Baby shoes

My 14 month old DS isn't walking on his own yet but will sometimes walk holding onto our hands and happily walks round the furniture. I had thought we wouldn't need shoes for a bit but nursery have just asked us to bring some shoes in for him as he likes going out in the garden and using the walker out there and his socks obviously won't cut it!

Only problem is I have no idea what to do. I don't think a decent shoe shop will sell us any shoes as he isn't walking unaided. In addition he has v big feet (takes after his dad) so I don't think I'll be able to buy him any pram shoes.

I was therefore wondering if anyone could make any suggestions please.

Thanks :)

Take him along to a shoe shop and see what they have available - some brands have cruisers / first steps type shoes that are a step up from pram shoes but not as structured as 'proper' shoes iyswim.

Oh, if you have one nearby an independent shoe shop might be best as they tend to stock a number of different brands.

Clarks do cruising shoes which should do the job, they're a bit softer than 'proper' shoes. They should measure his feet too.

My 20 month old DD isn't walking on her own yet. She is out in the garden a lot at nursery. i got her pram shoes from jojomamanbebe. I find their sizes HUGE, so you may have some luck there. Also, she has a pair of waterproof socks (for want of a better word), that slip over her socks/shoes, so if it is chucking it down, she won't get wet feet when out in the garden at nursery (they go out to play in all weathers)
