Cloth Nappy addicts please answer me this... ref number of nappies

I am a complete nappy addict

have had great fun trying different cloth nappies with 3 families during 10 years of nannying, and i gained an extensive collection of nappies while i was pg

well over 120 at last count and 14 have arrived today

I think i had about 40 in size 0 or size 1, i have 6 size 3's 20 terry sqaures (which i use for mopping / wiping) so i must have about 50 size 2 nappies

When newborn i LOVED sandies XS, and most of the time in size 1 we used lollipop softees and micros, sometimes a tots cotton, a little lamb cotton, and bamboozles during the night.

Anyway we are moving house soon and i think i need to de-stash, but im nor sure how many to keep

I was at least every 4 days, so need 4 days worth of nappies + a few spare

I line dry and i really want them to dry on an airer over night (not overnight and all day)

I have bought myself 12 lollipop micro size 2 new which i plan to use most of the time
I also have 2 pop ins, and itti bitti and a wee notions as good nappies for change bag that i will keep. (easy for grandma)
and i like bamboo for night time (tots bamboozle size 2 lasted 15 hours last night (mistake, as i thought OH changed her this am and he thought i had)

We plan number 2, hopefully quite soon, so there is a chance i could have 2 in cloth in size 2 at once (though will then have to wash more often)

So how many size 2 nappies do you think i could reasonably keep?

My God woman, how many babies do you have??! Wink :o I have three kids, although only one nappy-wearer at a time. I own 20 nappies, and I've never got to the no-nappy situation. I would say 20. Tops.

No idea but pm me when you've decided and I'll help you get rid of them Grin

I had two in cloth for about 9 months, and washed every 2 days (now 3 or 4 days as there is only 1).

I think I had about 35 or so in regular use, including 6 night nappies (adsjustable for both siz 1 and 2) to allow for one each on, one each in the wash and one each spare).

Do you have nappies that can fit either size? We have lots of bumgenius and tots bots stretchies so we could use them on DS2 as larger size or DS3 as smaller.

I've had 2 in cloth, I had 20 size 1 tots bots and 20 terry squares plus a few random freebies and 4 minkie huggles for nights for the toddler.

That is more than you need but is reasonable and allows you to wash less.

To decide why don't you fill your washine machine plus 10 nappies so you can have a full wash on plus nappies for that day and a couple of spares. I'll allow you to keep 4 specific night nappies on top of that Grin.

I've got more than I need and I have about 30 max!

ok... so about 40ish is just about reasonable to keep then Wink

been through them tonight and have 38 that i just have to keep, and then there are 2 spares at grandmas...

i have at least 40 to get rid of now, and it saddened me every time i decided that a nappy had to go Sad
I have a massive laundry basket over flowing of nappies looking for new homes now...

I have kept about 10 night nappies, that have fitted DD from about 12lb
also a couple of large ellas house hemp nappies incase she becomes a super wetter as she grows

thank you very much for your words of wisdom

If i decide i still have way too many I can have another de-stash :)
