hello

has anyone ever done this? and if so where did you buy material from? i was going to buy some lovely panda material from spoonflower.com but they have a disclaimer that the material is not treated with fire retardent chemicals so not suitable for kids bedding. do you know where i can get material that is? or is this really important anyway? not wanting to be lax but just want to understand why this disclaimer is mentioned.

thanks!

Do you have a dunelm near by?

oh blimey, that would have never even occurred to me!!!
i have a ton of old blankets and stuff that I use on the kids beds and I am sure they're not fire retardant... not sure i'd want them to be all over my children anyway

if there is a fire in your child's room i really don't thinkt hat fire retardant bedding is going to make a hell of a lot of difference???

so, in essence, I would use the panda material!

thisisyesterday yes that is exactly what i thought, how much use will it be if its fire retardent in the unfortunate event of a fire! but not wanting to face the wrath of MNers that can unexpectedly ensue when an innocent question is asked, i thought id be cautious in my phrasing Grin

potteringalong i will look them up, thanks!

I think the law about fire retardant bedding is to dovwith smoking in bed. If you're not going yo be selling it, then it doesn't matter.

Depending on size you could also make 2 cotbed duvet covers from one shop-bought single cover. I've done this a number of times, making short work of the job at a reasonable cost with matching pillowcase too.
