Im usually good at working out what to do....but I just cant think clearly about how to solve our sleep, or should I say sleepless, problem. Please help me, I feel ill from being so exhausted, really really fuggy headed and desperate to just go to bed all the time;
I have dd1 who is nearly 7 and dd2 who is 17 months. dd1 was terrible at sleeping (adenoid problems and sleep apnoea) and didnt sleep through the night until she was 3. She now sleeps well.
DD2 slept 12 hours a night from 6 weeks old, from 7pm to 7am. I did a combination of co-sleeping with an open sided cot pushed against the bed so that I could put her there out of harms way. She has always had a dummy and she would find it herself if she woke and go back to sleep.
She has had really bad health-nothing serious- just almost constant ear infections/ coughs/ colds/ tummy bugs etc....and on these occassions I would comfort her to sleep in my bed. From about 12 months old she wont go to sleep by herself- she uses fiddling with my ear and face to comfort herslef to sleep!
I have tried controlled crying, but she can climb out of her cot, which was dangerous. So, currently she is in a cot bed in a room with her sister. When I am feeling less tired I spend time settling her in her bed, but if this is going on until 9pm or later I take her into my room so that dd1 can get some sleep. DD1 obviously has to go to school so I want her to be getting enough sleep. Even if all goes well, dd2 will wake at some point in the night and get into my bed and fiddle with my face to get back to sleep!!
Its driving me nuts. I am dead on my feet, but I just CANT think of a solution
Does that even make sense??
Any suggestions?
