Preparing for entrance exams - suffering brain atrophy!!

I'm hoping to go back to college FT in October to study theology and as I already have a degree can go direct into second year IF i pass entrance exams.
Well, since I last studied I have had 3 children and my brain has died. My kids are 2,4, and 6 and I've been a SAHM mum for 5 years. I can't get down to it at all - I keep thinking that I should be doing other stuff and even though I have a day a week of childminder time to study I have done precisely nothing so far! My house is tidier than it has been for 5 years with all the time I have been spending on it on my Thursdays!
How long did it take any of you to get back into the swing of studying? Can it be done or am I kidding myself that I can do it again? I feel like I will never write an essay again!

It can be done! In fact, studying again has been fantastic. I think studying is like riding a bicycle really. You just have to keep finding the time (the hardest bit of course). In fact, I'm much more disciplined now, as I don't have all day to waste time like I did when I was a callow youth. Ignore the housework and hit the books! Good luck - you will love it!

Well on Thursday I managed to read 2 chapters of a book I need to read (making notes all the time) and wrote a section of essay.
I CAN do it, I CAN!
