MMR Dilemma

Has anyone decided to go down the single mmr route or not vaccinate at all?? My lo is almost 13 months now & i'm dreading the whole MMR dilemma. Touch wood she is fit & healthy like her dad & will be fine, on the other hand she has a mum with M.E, poor immune system/general health & I know it's not related but then there's my pelvis & back disabilities.

Am I being paranoid & too anxious? I would have to get her to london somehow 3 times at 6 week intervals, and pay over £300 to get the single shots done. This in itself is like the mission of a life time, let alone the money. If I knew it was DEFINITELY safer & less risk than the standard MMR I would do it, but nobody seems to know - all I know is it's a popular alternative but is it actually better / safer?!

Lo also reacted v badly to her 3 infant jabs, each time she was ill with fever & pain & was v unhappy for 3 weeks after each jab.

What did you ladies feel & what did you do?

I am not in your situation, but for us, mmr is not the way to go.

but, please be aware that afaik, the single mumps vaccine is unavailable at the moment, with no guarantee of when it will be available again.

you can only come to a decision that is right for you, and your family. try to find a route that you are comfortable with Smile

I got the singles for my dd, but by the time it was my ds's turn it wasn't possible to get the mumps vaccine. I deliberated over it for quite a while and finally, with much trepidation, let my ds have the MMR at nearly two years old. It was absolutely fine and I kind of wish I'd just saved my money and let dd have the MMR too. But ultimately you've got to do what feels right for you.

Forgot to say dd and ds both had sickness and temps with their other vacs, dd also ran a temp and had sickness with the singles, but ds didn't really have any side effects from the MMR.
