nappies in 40 degree wash only?

I bought some ebay cheap pocket nappies and just seen the instructions say 40 degree wash. This would be fine as I'd normally use Napisan but, recently, I can't find this anywhere! My local Sainsbury's no longer sells it and it seems to be really expensive on-line.

If I can't wash at 60 degrees (which seems crazy to sell nappies that can't be but that is what the website says) What else can I use as a germicide in the wash? What do others do?

I wash mine at 30 or 40 with ordinary washing tabs.

Same as Bikerunski. I use liners so the nappies don't get particularly soiled, although if I know there's a manky one in the load I might do a 60 wash. If you use a wet pail system I think you can add some tea tree oil to the bucket to help sanitise it, although I'm not sure wet pailing is recommended for pocket nappies anyway? If you really prefer to wash at 60, how about doing a 60 wash every few loads instead of all the time - maybe try it with just one first. Lots of clothes say 40 on them but they survive fine in the odd hot wash.

Thanks everybody, I don't wet pail as its too messy. I found something called vanish hygiene powder in sainsburys on offer, only fiver for a huge tub so that may be the way to go. I think I will still need to give the nappies a hot wash on occasion, so will chance that too.
