What next after the baby bath?

My DD is too long for the baby bath at 4 months. I have bathed her with me but I prefer hotter baths and later in the evening; it's not a great solution. What did anyone else do next?

DD went into the big bath around that age. You can get all kinds of props and supports to go in the big bath but I just filled it up a little bit and supported her with my arm. Shortly afterwards she was sitting by herself and the rest is history Smile

Mothercare sell a reclined plastic seat thingie that goes into your bath and they lay in that. It means both your hands are free to wash and play with them. Our two used it til they were able to sit up

I lay my dd flat in the normal bath at that age, she enjoyed kicking and moving in the water and having more space than the baby bath.. She was sitting up by 6 months and so sits up in bath now.

I brought a cheap bath mat to cushion her head and also put a flannel underneath too.

I used normal big bath with shallow water so ds could lie on his back and splash but not be submerged. He loved the space and enjoyed his baths so much more after that. :)

Normal bath and shallow water, lots of kicking and a happy baby!

Normal bath with shallow water.

Dd used to kick her feet and go shooting to the other end of the bath.

I got an aqua pod but in all honesty not really worth it much prefers shallow water and a kick around

We used the big bath, and then reverted to the baby bath when DS could sit up (saves a lot of water!)

My DD is 18 months and still in her baby bath, inside the big bath so she can splash to her hearts content. she sits up in it and can have the water right up to her armpits that way! I'm the only one of my friends who didn't ditch it a long time ago, but as AngelDog says, it saves water!

Normal bath, shallow water. You can get one of those big sponge things for support if you like but not necessary, just lie your dc down in the water, they can kick about and generally causes lots of merriment!
